Using the thread checker eliminates guessing. I did not know I had a metric bolt mixed in with the standard thread until I tried to use it. The metric bolt is the one on the top.

This is a do it yourselfer's workbench fantasy piece. Much bigger than I predicted at 17 inches long. Clean anodization, solid feel, has anti-slip feet and a hanging notch. If you have ever had to go the hardware store to find a missing bolt/nut in those typically half-sorted bins you will appreciate having this at home. You can go look for what you actually need by name and not get there to find their board missing or damaged. Better still - you can sort through your own jars or zip lock bags to realize you don't have to go to the store at all because you have kept the last 114 random bolts for just this opportunity. Perhaps that's just me.

This thing is a work of art. It is beautiful. I hung it up in the shop today and gave it a test drive. I ended up spacing it off the wall with a couple 1/4-20 nuts so there was a touch more room to run bolts in and out. That's a personal preference for me. I grabbed a handful of random bolts and nuts out of my toolbox and tested them all. It worked like a dream. The fit and finish is second to none. If you work with any kind of nuts and bolts, pick one up for your shop or garage. This will last a lifetime and be handed down to your kids and grandkids.

This thread checker board is very elegant in design and production. The light and vibrant-colored aluminum board provides thread check for both metric and standard nuts and bolts. The back has plastic feet to keep the board off the surface, and there are two slots available for either vertical or horizontal safekeeping. The aluminum board measures 1/4 inch thick and its overall dimensions are roughly 16.5x4 inches. This is a great tool and must-have for the man cave, garage, or workshop where you find yourself needing to determine bolt thread or bolt size.
